The
management of the Nigeria National League, (NNL) has hailed the efforts of the
four clubs that recently gained promotions from the National League to the Premier
League.
Four
clubs, El- Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri, Nasarawa united of Lafia, Nembe City and
Bayelsa united of Yenegoa, who emerged winners of their various National League
Divisions at the 2011/2012 season, which ended last week were declared promoted
to the elite cadre of Nigerian League (NPL) by the Nigeria National League
board.
In
his congratulatory message to the clubs, Chairman of the Nigeria National
League, (NNL) board, Chief Emeka Inyama noted that the four clubs deserved
their hard won promotions to the NPL, considering their outstanding
performances at the National League.
Inyama,
who also urged the clubs to remain good ambassadors of the NNL, noted that the
NNL board was able to organized what followers of the league have described as
the best league season in the country, stressing that it was on record that the
2011/2012 NNL season ended as planned without any reported incident of violence
or double standard at the centres.
He
noted that the NNL management ensured that all the matches were won on the field
of play as it endeavoured to put in place all the machineries that
discouraged board room points as it used to be in the past, adding that the
board will also endeavour to perform better than it had done this season, when
the new season commences.
“We
congratulate all the four clubs that have gained promotion from the NNL to the
NPL. While we wish them well as they prepare to battle for honours in
the elite league next season, we also urge them to remain good ambassadors of
the NNL since they were able to gain promotion because we conducted
one of the best organized seasons in Nigerian League, where every measure was
taken to ensure that we got the best. Within the first year of the existence of
the NNL board, we have no doubt organized a league season that was void of
rancour or violence as all the participated clubs were satisfied with the
conduct of the season, we also believe that the board will definitely count on
the successes recorded during the 2011/12 season to organize a better 2012/13
NNL season when it commences before the end of the year”, The NNL chairman
assured.
