NNL postpones super four play offs

  • The country’s national league board has moved the date of the Super Four tourney to give participating teams adequate time to prepare
    The Nigeria National League Super Four play offs has been shifted by a week to enable participating team have enough time to prepare.
    The competition initially billed to take place between November 18-20 will now take place from November 27-29 with Ikorodu United, MFM FC, Niger Tornadoes and Plateau United expected to battle for supremacy.
    According to a statement released by the secretary of the second tier league Lawrence Kathen, the shift in the commencement of decisive season ending event as against the initial plan, is to give participating clubs enough time to practice in other to
    .
    “We received complaints from the clubs involved asking for extension of time to enable them get ready and we saw the need to oblige them,” the statement read.
    “We planned to round off the season before the Annual General Assembly (AGA) of the Nigeria Football Federation, which will now hold in the month of December. It is okay by the NNL; we are still committed to organizing a befitting Super Four for our League.”
    Not minding the outcome of the competition, the four teams will participate in next season’s Nigeria Professional Football League.
