Liverpool to sign Emre Can

  • Liverpool have agreed a deal with Bayer Leverkusen to sign Turkish midfielder Emre Can. The midfielder will be joining the Merseyside Reds as soon as the deal of finalised, following the signing of Rickie Lambert Brendan Rodgers is taking a step forward with his recruitment plans by signing the 20-year-old midfielder.

    Liverpool have long held an interest in the former Bayern Munich star and held negotiations with Bayer throughout May, before making progress towards the end of the month.

    The fee for Can  is believed to be £10m, the value of his buyout clause, and Leverkusen are likely to use the money to launch a bid to sign Hamburg midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu.

    Once the deal is official, Can will become manager Brend
    an Rodgers' second signing of the summer transfer window following the signing of England striker Rickie Lambert, while the club continues to show interest in Sevilla's Alberto Moreno and Southampton's Adam Lallana.
