The Nigerian duo of John Mikel Obi and Shola Ameobi have been
listed amongst the top 15 most limited players at the English Premier
League.
The famous writer, Will Taylor made
the compilation for the English tabloid Football Fan cast on Tuesday in
what seems to be a very detailed analysis.
The
Super Eagles midfielder made the list as he was judged to have
performed under par despite two clubs fight for his signature back in
2006.
The Nigerian midfielder is said to have
failed to live up to his potential, with an awkward and uncomfortable
playing style that means he concedes possession more often than he wins
it back.
Also, Super Eagles new invitee Shola
Ameobi's performance was said not to matter so much even if he fails to
score another goal as he is said to have acclaimed the status of ''The
Mackem Slayer''.
It
won’t matter too much if Shola Ameobi fails to score another goal
during his Newcastle career, for the fans will still praise him thanks
to his status as ''The Mackem Slayer''.
Despite
years of frustration and uninspired performances in front of goal, only
the great Jackie Milburn has found the net more times against
Sunderland. A cult hero on Tyneside, but don’t expect him to
realistically challenge Demba Ba or Papiss Cisse for a regular starting
spot in Pardew’s starting XI.
Other players
that made the list includes Jamie Carragher(Liverpool), Andre Santos
(Arsenal), Rory Delap (Stoke City) amongst others.
