Liverpool and Chelsea will both battle it out for the £15million signature of Werder Bremen midfielder ry.
The 22-year-old only has two years left on his contract with the Bundelsiga side and has stalled over a signing a new year deal.
Both Premier League clubs have watched the Germany international play and want to utilise his versatility.
Marin can play anywhere across the midfield and as winger, according to the Daily Mail.
The German has also been attracting the interest of Tottenham, Arsenal and Bayern Munich.
Meanwhile, Liverpool defender Jose Enrique has bemoaned his side for dropping points at home to Norwich City.
The 1-1 draw at Anfield has left the Spaniard seeking an improvement if the Reds want Champions League football.
“We all respect Norwich and they did really well,” said Enrique.
“But at home against teams like that we have to win if we want to be in the Champions League. I think we lose a lot of points like that.
“I think the best teams in the world and in this league will beat teams like that, with the greatest respect, especially at home because it is more difficult to play them away.
“We’ve dropped two points here. I hope we don’t need these points in the future.

“I think we had some bad luck, it became frustrating for the players who were trying and trying.”
